Hey, I’m Troy Fairbanks, the guy behind Fairbanks Films. I’ve been hooked on filmmaking since I was 9—running around with a camera, capturing anything that caught my eye, and making videos purely for the love of creating. That early obsession turned into a career, and now I get to do what I love—telling stories, helping brands connect with their audience, inspiring others and showcasing the beauty and magic of life through film.
Based in Denver, Colorado, I work with an awesome roster of freelance crew members to bring ideas to life—whether it’s a high-energy action shoot, a dialed-in commercial, an inspirational documentary, or a live event. My background in action sports (I used to race downhill longboards) taught me how to capture movement, speed, raw moments, and be agile. But over the years, I’ve come to appreciate all types of storytelling—big or small, fast or slow, indoors or on the side of a mountain, polished or gritty.
At Fairbanks Films, I’m all about capturing the good stuff—the energy, the emotion, and the little details that make a video stand out. Filmmaking isn’t just what I do—it’s what I love, and it feels like one of my purposes is to share it with others. Check out my work page to see what I do, and if my style resonates with you, let’s grab a coffee or set up a video call to see if I’m the right fit for your project.
At Fairbanks Films, we bring the right tools for the job—whether it’s a small, fast-moving shoot or a full-scale production. We use top-tier gear like the Sony FX6/FX3, DJI Inspire 3, and a solid fleet of FPV drones to capture everything from tight, controlled shots to big, dynamic visuals. On top of that, we’ve got all the essentials— pro lighting, audio, tripods, gimbals, sliders, teleprompters, easy rig, and jibs/cranes.
Every project is different, and we keep things flexible to match your needs. If efficiency is key, we can run a lean, small-footprint crew to keep things moving fast and smooth. But if the project calls for it, we go all in—building a full-scale production team with trusted friends/colleagues like producers, directors, gaffers, audio techs, camera operators, and more.
No matter the size, we focus on delivering high-quality results with the right balance of efficiency, good vibes, and attention to detail. Or, if you just need a camera operator, director of photography, or aerial cinematography (check out riseaerials.com), I’ve got you covered. I can work solo or organize a team—whatever it takes to have the correct approach for each production and our clients' needs.
